Sunshine comes from the kennel Sanshain Papilio in Belarus. She is a medium sized female with fine bone structure, an elegant long neck and thick fringing of the ears that can achieve considerable length if cared for. Although she maintains the classic dainty appearance of a Papillon, her legs, in particular her fore-limbs, are of a sturdier kind that I would like to see more of in future Papillon lines. Her paws are large, which i also like. Sunshine is a classic sable hound-tri with striking coloring. Her attitude is serious and she has excellent drive for the ball and natural retrieving ability. She is at rest until there is a ball around, then she is “on.” She has a unique tendency to guard any object I put down, like a sweatshirt or a suitcase, and a few puppies have inherited this trait. She has a very regal and calm demeanor as she has matured and is usually in some elegant looking pose gazing at the rest of the dogs making fools of themselves. If there is a dog in the house who has caused some trouble, it’s never Sunshine.

Bubbles is from our first Peaches and Tito breeding. She is a larger sized tri-color female and will have good fringes as she develops. Bubbles is what we call an excellent ‘training dog’ in that she has a natural instinct for defusing tensions in groups of dogs and she uses body language to show politeness and respect. She is very aware of other dogs’ body language and understands how to communicate back in a way that lowers other dogs’ tension or apprehension. For this reason she is excellent around other dogs, very young puppies, and children. She gets along with everybody and we use Bubbles to introduce our young puppies to adults. Bubbles also loves to tug on toys and chase balls. She is a solid tempered girl.

Tuike comes from Tuiscalo’s Kennel in Finland. Tuike has a similar big dog attitude like Peaches and loves to tug on and destroy toys. She has a very fearless and outgoing mindset despite her small sized frame, which is exactly what I like to see in Papillons. Tuike JUMPS. This dog can JUMP. She is a flea trapped in a dog’s body. Tuike also exhibits high prey drive and likes to chase squirrels or other small unfortunate animals. She is quite affectionate and a “neck sleeper,” meaning one of us always wakes up with a neck spasm because Tuike was on top of it the whole night. She has a cute little compact body and nice tail carriage. She is very intelligent and needs to be busy so she is the reason there are toys all over my house.

Like our male Kiwi, Peaches comes from Nova Papillons in St. Marys, KS. Peaches is medium-boned and surprisingly well-muscled for a female Papillon. She has extremely intense food and tug drive and her training can be done with either. She has no ball drive. Peaches enjoys tugging and biting objects with great enthusiasm. She is confident and without fear towards anything and will fight for her toys and attack our larger dogs. She does not seem to comprehend how small she is, although she is built rather like a small truck. Like Kiwi she is very outgoing towards strangers and affectionate with us, but also likes her own space. Peaches has high energy in and out of the house and is fully able to entertain herself with a toy while everybody else is sleeping. She is a unique little dog with a huge personality. Men in particular seem to love her and she is my husband’s “heart dog.”

Mochi comes out of Silvermorning’s Kennel in CA and her bloodlines are based on the Lindatorp’s Kennel in Sweden. Mochi is petite in stature with a small, beautiful face and thick, luxurious coat. She is genetically a Phalène and homozygous for the drop-eared gene. Mochi has intense food drive that is enhanced by her natural focus on the handler; she will do any kind of training for food. She is extremely biddable and intelligent and needed very little work on engagement because of her handler focus. Mochi is a one-person dog and politely ignores other people. She has high enthusiasm for training and play and also loves to be a lap dog. Mochi is excellent around children and has a very calming presence. We frequently hear that she has soulful eyes.
